SULLIVAN - Voters are filling the parking lots at local polling places here, an indication that the community is following state and national trends. The national election for president is always a strong pull, but the Obama v. Romney contest has seemingly pushed many people to grab a ballot during the once-every-four-years event.
Many local voters will be making their choices at the Presbyterian Church on Cumberland Way - those living in town on the Crawford County side of the line will vote at the city's community center.
Several state newspapers are reporting heavy voting in Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia and St. Louis.
Polls close at 7 p.m.
