SULLIVAN - A winter storm rolled into eastern Missouri this morning, snarling traffic and probably altering a few New Year's Eve plans. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the greater St. Louis area - including Franklin and Crawford counties - until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

By noon today - New Year's Eve - dozens of slide-offs and accidents were being worked by law enforcement and emergency personnel across the area. With temps hovering around the freezing mark at noon, snow quickly accumulated - the City of Sullivan receiving about 2 inches. At 12:30 p.m., light snow was falling in Sullivan and area roads remain in poor condition.

City of Sullivan Street Department crews are currently plowing and salting city streets.
