SULLIVAN - A driver may have blacked out shortly after 1 p.m. Monday before slamming head-on into a telephone pole at the intersection of East Vine and Ozark streets. The driver and a young child were taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital, but the injuries are not believed to be serious. According to a witness on the scene, the driver said she blacked out while driving.
The female driver was apparently eastbound on East Vine Street in a Geo Metro shortly after 1 p.m. when the accident occurred.
The auto was towed from the scene.
